Individuals typically seek psychotherapy for specific problems such as episodes of low mood, anxiety, panic attacks and difficulties with work and relationships. However, when told to an attentive and non-judgmental listener, the stories behind these complaints often reveal previously unacknowledged tensions between what one wants and what is expected of them by family, loved ones and social values.
I work from the conviction that psychotherapy provides the space to understand one's troubles in a new way, such that the narrative about oneself, others and life can be rewritten, leading to lasting and more satisfying choices and relationships.
My experience includes working in a range of settings, from inpatient psychiatric units to outpatient clinics with patients presenting with an equally diverse range of socio-cultural backgrounds and psychological difficulties. I am presently available to see adults and adolescents for individual psychotherapy.
